Google Cloud
A short explanation of Google Cloud in our glossary
The Google Cloud Platform (GCP) offers more than 90 different IT services and is one of the largest cloud providers in the world. The services GCP provides include, among others, hosting services for computing, storage and application development. Google itself uses GCP for end-user products such as Google Search and YouTube.
GCP offers a range of products, for example:
- Cloud Storage: scalable object storage
- Google Kubernetes Engine: a secure, managed service for running container-based applications
- Anthos: modernising and building apps
- Compute Engine: a computing service for creating and running virtual machines
- Recommendations AI: personalised product recommendations through machine learning
