A short explanation of web browsers
Web browsers are programs used to display websites on the internet. The first web browser, called "WorldWideWeb", was created in 1989 and developed for scientific purposes.
In addition to ordinary HTML pages, web browsers can also open and display other documents, images or PDFs. Web browsers are essential for using web apps.
Among the most popular and well-known web browsers are Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, Microsoft Edge, Safari and Opera. There is a large selection of add-ons with various functions designed to make browsing easier — especially for Chrome and Firefox. It is also possible to personalise your browser with different themes.
